USACE Armed Forces Reserve Center

SVE Group is moving into the final phases of the Commissioning Process for the newly constructed Armed Forces Reserve Center located in Newark, DE. This particular project was a Design/Build project of a new 400-member, 80,994 square foot Armed Forces Reserve Center (AFRC), 8,050 square foot organizational Maintenance Shop (OMS), and a 1,361 square foot unheated storage building located at Newark, Delaware. The buildings consist of  reinforced concrete foundations, concrete floor slab, structural steel frames, masonry veneer walls, standing seam metal roof, HVAC systems, plumbing, mechanical systems, security systems, and electrical systems. Access for the disabled will be provided. Force protection (physical security) measures will be incorporated into design including maximum standoff distance from roads, parking areas, and vehicle unloading areas. Berms, heavy landscaping, and bollards will be used to prevent access when standoff distances cannot be maintained.

The center replaces the Kirkwood Army Reserve Center West of Wilmington.
