USACE Electronics Maintenance Shop, Depot Level, Tobyhanna, PA
The electronics Maintenance Shop for Tobyhanna Army Depot (TYAD) is the largest, full-service electronics maintenance facility in the United States Department of defense. Tobyhanna Army Depot utilizes advanced technologies to ensure the readiness of the U.S. Armed Forces. The Depot is a full-service repair, overhaul and fabrication facility. TYAD's mission is total logistics support, including sustainment design, manufacture, repair and overhaul of hundreds of electronic systems.
This project was to renovate the existing maintenance facilities that have relocated the depot maintenance workload from Seal Beach to Tobyhanna Army Depot. The construction and installation of a tower is necessary in order to perform operational testing of specific radar systems at Seal Beach; and an existing bay within TYAD's maintenance complex only requires relatively minor facilitization to permit the set up, repair, and testing of various systems and their associated pedestals. This bay required upgrades to the electrical power, lighting, floor coating, air system, and others. The facility also required the installations of a crane for efficient material handling of end items and sub-assemblies.
SVE Group, Inc. served as the Commissioning Agent and the LEED Administrator for this project.
Equipment that was commissioned:
Heating Hot Water Piping Systems Heating Hot Water Pumps Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger Door Heater Heating and Ventilating Units Testing and Balancing (TAB) Plan HVAC Controls Lighting and Lighting Control System
