USACE Army Reserve Center, Harrisburg, PA
This project consists of the construction of a new Harrisburg Army Reserve Center that houses approximately 100 members. It is located on the Naval Support Activity (NSA) in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. This project has been designed and built in order to receive a LEED Certification.
Susquehanna Valley Engineering Group, Inc. was awarded the Building Commissioning Services for this Design/Build project.
The facilities within this project include a 22,000 square foot Army Reserve Center (ARC), and a 5,000 square root Organizational Maintenance Shop, with an unheated storage building and organizational parking. Supporting facilities included land clearing, paving, fencing, general site improvements, and an extension of utilities to serve the project. Physical Security measures were incorporated into the design which includes a maximum standoff distance from roads, parking areas, and vehicle unloading areas. Other measures include berms, heavy landscaping, and bollards that are used to prevent access when standoff distance cannot be maintained. Access for individuals with disabilities has also been provided.
